Coffee Subscription
One of the first things you should do when upping your coffee game is to use fresh coffee beans. You can hunt down local roasters, or use a coffee subscription service to get roasted beans delivered to your door. Atlas is one of our favorite services because it brings you coffee from all over the world.
Trade Coffee is at the top of our list of the best coffee movies. Special Trade Coffee is bringing a small roaster to your door. The company does not roast the beans themselves, but partners with hundreds of small roasters around the country to bring you the best small batch beans out there. There are various promotions on the site right now, and most orders get you a free bag of coffee in addition to the discount. The Sparrow Chocolate & Coffee Gift Box for $59 ($10 off, plus a free bag of coffee) looks really tempting.
Blue Bottle is one of the oldest coffee subscribers. It’s still good, although the selection is not as good as some of the newer ones. Where Blue Bottle stands out is freshness—the company promises to ship your coffee within 24 hours of roasting.
The word quintal refers to the weight by which coffee beans are bought and sold in South America, so it is the appropriate name for this service that is directly related to farmers and roasters in some areas of Central and South America that grow a lot of coffee. Shipping direct from the origin within one to three days of roasting means the coffee will be as fresh as possible when it arrives. Another advantage is that most of the money they make from selling coffee goes to the farmers and roasters in their countries.

Our favorite espresso machine, the Diletta Mio, is on sale on Black Friday. This machine is brand new and we haven’t seen it on sale or cheaper since it was released this summer. It is beautiful and always makes the best espresso with basic equipment like timer and PID (computer to monitor the boilers hitting. perfect temperature).
De’Longhi’s La Specialista Arte espresso machine is the poster child of what a home espresso machine should look like. It’s sleek and sleek, with convenient buttons and a front and center gauge to ensure your espresso is brewed as consistently as possible. This includes a built-in grinder, and a small platform to raise and lower your shooting glasses. That means there’s enough room under the portafilter for a full-sized coffee cup if you skip a shot and go for a drink.
Solis Barista Perfetta Plus is the perfect espresso machine. It produces a clean, consistent shot of espresso, and doesn’t take up much counter space. Its compact frame is one of its best features, and it fits between a toaster oven and a rice cooker without the need to upgrade the main machine.
It’s not the most portable espresso maker (it’s heavy, too), but it produced some of the best portable espresso makers we tested. It’s easy to use—just follow the instructions in the video from the company—easy to clean, and allows for a full test.
This espresso machine is a good choice if you’re not ready to drop hundreds of dollars (or even over a thousand) into an espresso machine. It produces a consistent and delicious espresso, steamed milk and cotton, and you won’t mess it up.
One-Touch of Mr. Coffee is our top choice for latte and cappuccino machines. WIRED reviewer Jeffrey Van Camp says it pulls the best espresso out of just about anything — he even tested Maxwell House coffee and it produced legitimate espresso. But it doesn’t give you the same flavor as the Breville machine does, but this one is much cheaper.
The Barista is a version of the One-Touch above, but it’s still a solid $200 machine without being discounted. It’s more plastic than the One-Touch, so you’ll have to stop it if you’re twisting the filter in place.

It’s not a huge discount, but this is our favorite iced coffee maker. It makes about 32 hours of coffee at a time. All you have to do is put the grinder in the basket and slowly pour the water. Then let it sit in the fridge or freezer for 24 hours, and that’s it.
County Line Kitchen is a family business in Wisconsin. His Cold Brew Maker uses the trusty ol’ 2-quart mason jar and stainless steel basket to brew. You fill the basket with a lot of coffee grounds, pour up to 64 hours of cold water slowly, and leave for 24 hours. When you’re done, remove the filter basket and use the lid to pour.
OXO is a killer brand of coffee equipment, and this machine is no exception. The shower head has been designed to fill the space as evenly as possible, ensuring that you get the taste of your coffee without filling one space – which can be difficult for a drip machine. If you’ve ever looked at your grounds after brewing coffee and it looks like all the water has drained to the center, you’ve experienced the bitter taste that can give your coffee. OXO’s spout was designed to avoid such coffee hazards.
A good drip machine should wash your coffee grounds evenly, and it should have some things you can prepare. This machine excels at both and includes a built-in scale to measure the right amount of coffee. But perhaps its best trick is that you can use it as a handheld downloader in addition to its other features.
Cafe’s Drip Coffee Maker is everything you could want from a high-end machine. It produces excellent, well-balanced coffee with no burnt flavors. The water nozzle ensures that the water is poured evenly and quickly, two keys to great coffee from a drip machine.

One of our favorite coffee grinders, the Oxo Conical Burr Grinder is our first choice for anyone who is upping their coffee game and picking up a burr grinder for the first time. It’s cheap, reliable, and offers a level of consistency (and accuracy) you can’t beat out of a grinder. No matter how you brew your coffee, a burr grinder will make sure you get the right beans. A fancier version with a standard scale is also on sale for $240 ($60 off).
A solid all-round grinder, the Solis Scala Zero is a great choice for your first grinder. It can be ground fine enough for an espresso or bitter enough for a pour-over—or anything in between. It’s also a nice little burr grinder, which is always a plus in small kitchens.
The Baratza Encore shines as a coffee grinder in part because of its exterior and powerful internal motors, but one of my favorite features is the ease with which you can access the internal burrs. Most burr grinders require a little servicing from time to time, just taking out the burrs and resetting them, but the Baratza makes the whole process a breeze. This is a top of the line grinder that can make the best espresso coffee grounds.

They may not be the type of cups you can change everything your mug is, but the Ember Mug2 is a great desktop tool for any home office setup. It has a small piece that doubles up, and makes your coffee hotter in a regular cup than it would let it get cold.
Spice up your coffee life with hot and frothy milk. In slow motion, this inexpensive battery-powered coffee maker can produce cappuccino-style foam. While you’re at it, grab our favorite stainless steel bowl for $10.
Chances are you’ve seen these kettles sitting on the countertop at your favorite cafe. Fellow’s Stagg EKG Electric Kettle (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has a long, narrow neck for better control when brewing brewed coffee, and it’s an everyday electric kettle that looks great on almost any desktop.
Zojirushi’s premium 16-ounce travel mugs are BPA-free and have a mouth opening to grab ice if you’re eating cold. Locks to prevent accidental spillage, and I (Adrienne) have accidentally left hot tea in it for 18 hours and found it still hot when I carefully opened it again.
If you want to prepare your coffee, get a scale. You need it for measuring beans, pours, espresso shots and more, the only way to get your results is if you know what you’re doing. This scale is a budget-friendly model that still offers everything you need.
