Senior Swimming has cut ties with Rick and Morty creator and star Justin Roiland, and is moving forward with a new season of Cult without him. The announcement comes on the heels of the domestic violence allegations Roiland made public.
Roiland’s involuntary departure was revealed post on the officer Rick and Morty A Twitter account(Opens in a new window) the second. The post was retweeted by the Adult Swim account.
“Adult Swimming has terminated its contract with Justin Roiland,” the article read in a black and white photo. “Rick and Morty it will continue. A talented and dedicated staff is working hard on Section 7.”

In addition to co-production and executive production Rick and Morty, Roiland has voiced all of the main characters in the show’s six seasons so far. A spokesperson for Adult Swim’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery says the roles have been reversed.(Opens in a new window).
Roiland was charged with domestic violence in May 2020, but the public was not aware of the allegations until he appeared in court for a jury trial earlier this month.(Opens in a new window). NBC News reported that the 42-year-old has pleaded not guilty to two counts: domestic battery with injury, and false imprisonment for dangerous, fraudulent, violent, or fraudulent purposes. His hearing is scheduled for April 27.

Swim Officials ordered another 70 units a Rick and Morty back in 2018, signing a long-term deal with Roiland and co-producer Dan Harmon. The show has aired 30 episodes over three seasons, meaning more than half of the original 70 episodes have been made up of new cast members.
UPDATE: January 25, 2023, 12:02 pm AEDT High on Life Squanch Games has just announced that they are no longer working with Roiland. “On January 16, 2023, Squanch Games accepted the resignation of Justin Roiland,” the studio announced via Twitter. “The passionate team at Squanch will continue to make games that we know our fans will love while continuing to support and evolve High on Life.” Released in December last year, High on Life is a first-person shooter based on the concept of Roiland, who was heavily involved in its development.
