The death of a 25-year-old Black woman who died in Cabo, Mexico last month he left his family wanting answers, with police insisting there was no foul play and his family saying he died of a broken neck.
Photo by Shanquella Robinson Salamondra’s mother revealed last week that a post-mortem examination found her daughter was brutally murdered, and now the family is blaming Shanquella’s friends after a video was uploaded showing her being brutally beaten by a friend.
Autopsy Shows No Signs of Alcohol Poisoning, As Mexican Officials Insist There Was No Foul Play
“When he came back, he said he had nothing to do with alcohol,” Salamondra Robinson said, according to WNCT.
” [They] he said that he broke his neck and his back was broken. He was beaten.”
The Robinson family only learned of the autopsy report after calling the FBI and Mexican authorities, Shanquella’s friends who were traveling with them called in panic shortly after they arrived.
“Each of the people with him were telling different stories,” Salamondra said.

He said he was not feeling well. He had alcohol poisoning. He couldn’t hit.”
US State Department Officials Deny Her Murder As Family Hires Private Investigator
But the US State Department officials in Mexico have denied that her death was a homicide, despite the incriminating video showing Shanquella being beaten, while saying that the police investigation showed no signs of foul play.
Now, a State Department official is helping the Shanquella family obtain reports from Mexican law enforcement. According to WNCT, the family is also hiring a private investigator to look into the matter.
Shanquella died less than a day after arriving in Mexico after making a last phone call to her mother.
He is said to have told his mother that their party “had a chef. They were preparing to eat. They were eating tacos or salad or something, and I said, ‘Okay. I love you. Sleep well, and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.’”

“I didn’t talk to my son anymore. He did not return home,” Salamondra said after the call.
Shanquella’s friends who traveled with him eventually returned from Mexico without leaving him, leaving his body there. His family brought his body back home after a two-week wait with a fine of $6,000, the report said.
“I know that this will not bring my son, but I want him to do something,” said Shanquella’s mother.
“He had a heart of gold. He loved everyone, and almost everyone loved him.”

One of the friends who took part in the Cabo trip with Shanquella, Daejhanae Jackson, has been accused on social media of beating Shanquella, which killed her.
Meanwhile, the ongoing investigation into his death found that his friends had lied about his death.

A video of the attack has been circulating on social media, with many calling for Jackson to be arrested for Shanquella’s death.
As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made.
News of Shanquella’s death comes just days after another group of Black friends were found dead in Mexico after celebrating the Day of the Dead, The Shade Room it has already been said.
