Celtic have signed South Korean midfielder Hyeon-Gyu Oh from Suwon Bluewings for £2.5m on a five-year deal.
The 21-year-old agreed to his terms earlier this week and has completed his move to the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said: “He is a young, talented striker with great qualities and ready to take the next step in his career – a player who is hungry, eager to develop and improve.
“I’ve been watching Oh for a while and he’s my favorite striker because I think he’ll be a good fit for our team.
“Most importantly, I know he was also interested in joining us and his hard work has been crucial to this deal, so his determination to join Celtic has been clear.
“We are delighted to welcome him to the club and look forward to working with him and developing our team.”
Talking with Celtic TVOh said: “I am happy to play for one of the top clubs and I am happy that my dream has come true.
“I feel like I’m on a movie and I’m really excited to be in this city and I’m looking forward to the days ahead.
“This is the moment I’ve been dreaming of and I’m happy to do it in front of the fans in this stadium.”
Before signing Oh, Celtic made an offer for fellow international Gue-Sung Cho, but talks stalled with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors after the player decided to test his options.
Will Giakoumakis leave this month?
Postecoglou said on Friday that he expected further changes to be confirmed in the coming days as he explained the progress of both sides, with right back Josip Juranovic leaving for Union Berlin on Sunday.
Another player expected to leave Parkhead this month is Giorgos Giakoumakis, with Celtic accepting a £3m bid from Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds for the player.
Giakoumakis is still considering his options amid interest from MLS side Atlanta United – who have yet to offer – but Postecoglou said he does not expect the Greece international to make an immediate exit.
When asked if Celtic player Giakoumakis will still be a Celtic player at the end of January, Postecoglou said: “Until I know or hear, I hope they are all Celtic players but there has been progress with these kinds of problems. I think. in the next few days we will see how everything is going. “
Postecoglou also had a warning for any members of his squad who may be disappointed at the lack of guaranteed game time after Celtic’s transfer business.
“There have been a few players who haven’t had a chance this year, but mostly they all play, they all contribute,” said the coach.
“You can have guaranteed game time – but you’re not going to play for this club or any big club.
“You can get it at a club where they are not strong or not competing for trophies, but that is not what the big players want.
“They want to be successful and they want to win every competition. To do that, they understand that you have to have a strong team and compete for places.
“If at any time a player is not happy with it, or wants more game time, the only way to do that is to train hard and show yourself the best.
“Or, you can look for other opportunities elsewhere.”
