    DP World Tour Championship: Jon Rahm earns impressive win in Dubai as Rory McIlroy ends season No 1 | Golf News

    Rory McIlroy ends the season at the top of the DP World Tour rankings for the fourth time after finishing fourth in Dubai; Jon Rahm won the tournament for the third time with two wins over Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren.

    Jon Rahm secured his third DP World Tour Championship victory with two wins in Dubai, while Rory McIlroy finished top of the DP World Tour Championship.

    Rahm had a one-shot advantage in the final round and never left the top of the board in the final round at Jumeriah Golf Estates in Dubai, combining for six birdies and one bogey to end the week at 20 under.

    The Spaniard’s closest challenge came from Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren, who carded 66 and 67 respectively to share second place, with McIlroy tied for fourth after a four-under 68.

    McIlroy’s finish ensured he remains atop the DP World Tour’s all-time list and awarded him the Harry Vardon Trophy for the fourth time, the world No 1 also became only the second player in history to win the PGA Tour’s FedExCup. and the DP World Tour order of merit in the same season.
