Harry Kane is ready to sign a new Tottenham contract with talks between the player and the club continuing, according to Sky in Italy.
Kane will enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer.
But Sky in Italy understands that two meetings between Tottenham and Kane’s agent have taken place on his long-term future.
Sky in Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said Transfer Show: “There have been two meetings between Spurs and agent Harry Kane.
“It has been confirmed that he has an option to extend his contract. Negotiations are ongoing.”
The North London club, however, have denied any meetings have taken place.
The 29-year-old’s progress comes after he equaled Jimmy Greaves’ record as the club’s top goalscorer with his 266th goal in Monday’s 1-0 win at Fulham.
But the England captain has yet to win a trophy at Spurs, although the club is still in contention for its first silverware since 2008 with Antonio Conte’s side in the last 16 of the Champions League and the FA Cup fourth.
Asked about his Spurs future after the win at Craven Cottage, he said Sky Sports: “There hasn’t been much talk if I’m honest.
“I’m sure there will be discussions in the coming months, but to be honest, I’m just focusing on this season and doing my best for the team.
“There is a lot to play for, to try to get into the Champions League, we have the FA Cup and the Champions League to try to win. That is my goal.
“I know there will be rumours, a lot of talk and speculation about my future but I’m just looking at what I can do.”
Bayern Munich still want Kane
Bayern Munich will remain interested in Kane as the Bundesliga champions search for a replacement for Poland international Robert Lewandowski who joined Barcelona in July last year.
Sky in Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg said Transfer Show: “I had Harry Kane’s phone a few hours ago. He’s still on [Bayern Munich] list.
“In the summer, it was very difficult.
“The chances of signing him in the summer are very slim. Bayern bosses have no hope of signing him in the summer, but they have been in touch.
“Kane was ready to join Bayern, to go to the Bundesliga, but he is too expensive for them at the moment.
“For now, we have to say – Kane and Bayern are cold.”
Zaniolo at Spurs ‘impossible’
Tottenham have been interested in signing Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo in January, but Sky in Italy believe that any movement is not possible at this time.
Sky Sports news It has been reported that Spurs want to sign the player on loan, however Roma are keen to sell the 23-year-old for the duration of this window.
DiMarzio said Transfer Show on Spurs’ move for the Italian: “I think it’s impossible because Spurs’ offer is similar to what Dejan Kulusevski did last year with Juventus. [18-month loan with an obligation to buy].
“It was a loan with an opportunity that would be an obligation to buy if Spurs get into the Champions League and after a few games.
“Roma now wants to sell the player without pressure based on looks or qualities.
“Roma is not accepting a loan from Spurs like Juventus did for Kulusevski last year.”
Asked if loan deals were linked to Spurs head coach Conte’s future, Di Marzio said: “No, I don’t think so.
“Every team at the moment wants to take Zaniolo on loan. AC Milan is also interested. The clubs know that the player has problems and wants to leave so they hope that Roma will agree to the loan.
“Given the player’s injury history, clubs at the moment don’t want to invest £30m in him. I don’t think that’s relevant to Conte’s future.”
Tottenham are close to signing Danjuma from Everton
Tottenham are expected to make their first January signing after completing a medical for Arnaut Danjuma, as they look to land the Villarreal winger right under Everton’s noses.
Sky Sports news He said on Monday that Danjuma will join managerless Everton on Tuesday. The move was still expected despite the sacking of Frank Lampard, who played a major role in the deal.
However, the Netherlands international is now on his way to London for talks with Spurs, and the club have scheduled a medical for Tuesday evening.
Sky Sports news is trying to determine whether the purchase method or responsibility will be included in any contract.
Spurs are still in talks to sign Porro
Tottenham are still in talks with Sporting over a move for defender Pedro Porro.
Spurs have increased their interest in signing him as soon as he is cold because Sporting insist on paying him everything they release him.
Signing a right-back has been a priority for Antonio Conte in January and he wants to sign Porro ahead of schedule.
