Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are having an interesting fight in Raj Mehta’s Selfie. The three-minute trailer introduces us to Vijay, the most popular actor played by Akshay Kumar. We then meet Om Prakash (Emraan Hashmi), a police officer and a strong supporter of Vijay, along with his son. Their one goal is to take selfies with their favorite celebrities. Vijay meets Om Prakash and his son when the actor is applying for his driving license.
After Vijay humiliates Om Prakash in front of his son, the meeting takes a turn for the worse. Om Prakash then informs Vijay that he has to follow the proper procedures like any other citizen if he wants to get a driving license. Naturally, Vijay does not make things easy for the honest cop. Selfie at first makes you think of Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan. This drama is a comedy about Malayalam movie Driving Licence.
While it’s great to see Akshay in an action-packed drama, Emraan steals the show in the trailer. Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty are also featured in the film, although they receive very little screen time in the trailer. The song Main Khiladi Tu Anari is playing in the background as Emraan and Akshay walk, looking super cute.
With Akshay and Emraan together, it looks like a fun family film with lots of action, drama, and comedy. The film Selfie is premiering in theaters on February 24.
