Jason David Frank, the beloved actor who played Tommy Oliver in the movie Power Rangers Franchise, died on Saturday at the age of 49. The news of Frank’s death was confirmed by his talent through Instagram.
Frank was best known for his role in the first game of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, as Green Ranger Tommy Oliver. Although he appeared in only 14 episodes in the first season, he became one of the most popular characters in the franchise that appeared in 10 series and four movies.
On top of his job Power Rangers, Frank was a mixed martial artist, proficient in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and more. Frank’s fans and friends are currently sharing tributes on social media to an icon whose work will never be forgotten.

Our fellow Rangers Walter E. Jones and Blake Foster, both spoke of their grief over Frank’s death.
“RIP Jason David Frank,” Jones wrote on Instagram.
