    The world’s best golfers to compete for more than $100 million in qualifying earnings by 2023, the most in LPGA Tour history; The global campaign starts on January 19 and runs until the end of November

    LPGA Tour players will compete for $100 million for the first time as part of 2023.

    The LPGA Tour has announced that its international calendar will feature 33 events in 12 countries, with a total of $101.4m (£85m) up for grabs.

    The combined purses are more than double what was paid out on the tour a decade ago, with the top five women’s golfers taking home $37.9m in total earnings, with each tournament carrying a purse of $1.5m.

    “Thanks to our athletes, partners, volunteers and amazing fans, 2023 will be a landmark year for the LPGA Tour,” said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan. “The program features innovative events, premium purses, unique features and world-class golf.

    “Our players are playing for more money than at any time in history, and we have more than 500 hours of television coverage. All of these factors combine to make the LPGA the premier women’s tournament in the world.

    “The LPGA Tour has never had better or more dedicated partners who see value in investing in the women’s game and who understand how their partnership elevates women and girls in the game of golf.”

    The 2023 schedule includes the Hanwha LifePlus International Crown, a tournament featuring golfers from the world’s top eight nations, as Team Europe chases a third consecutive victory against Team USA in the Solheim Cup next September.
