American fighters Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have revealed that a fight between the two is “in the works” for sometime in 2023.

The lightweight fight, which has been rumored as a possibility, has been confirmed by each fighter to take place in Las Vegas.

Davis confirmed that he was already scheduled to fight in Washington DC on January 7, but that his next fight will be against Garcia.

“I’ll be back in the ring Jan 7 stay tuned for more! After that it’s me and Ryan who signed the seal… I’m done!,” he said.

Garcia engaged in a “best fight” on social media along with the announcement.

“I’m so pumped that this fight is in place – I want it more than anything right now. I’ve put in the work, I’m at the peak of my career, and I know I’m going to be the greatest boxer in the world. That legacy starts today.

“Boxing NEEDS this fight right now. It’s time to get back to what made the sport great for the fans: Spectacular fights in places like Las Vegas, sports stories, and most importantly – great fights.

“I like to connect with new fans, young people, and I know that I can bring a new generation to the most beautiful sport in the world. It’s time to work, and show everyone what boxing has to offer…”
