“I’m just waiting for someone to be arrested.” The FBI is not saying anything,” Shanquella Robinson’s mother, Salamondra Robinson, told the UK Independent on Thursday, a month after her daughter died at the Baladores Beach Club in San José del Cabo.

Reports of the arrest of Daejhanae Jackson, Robinson’s friend who took him on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, surfaced in recent days but have since been proven false. However, Mexican authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name.
Arrests Given, Yet No Arrests So Far Despite False Reports Otherwise
The FBI told The Independent that the investigation into his death was ongoing, but declined to confirm whether an arrest or extradition had been made.
Robinson died on October 29 and was initially thought to have died of alcohol poisoning, but a death certificate later revealed that he had suffered “severe back injuries and a fractured atlas,” or dislocation of the vertebrae in the neck.
Salamondra told reporters that a group of friends who accompanied Shanquella on the trip initially told his family that he had been “poisoned”.
However, a video has gone viral showing Shanquella being brutally beaten and assaulted inside a luxury rental house by one of his friends who he traveled with, as he previously claimed. The Shade Room.

Deputy Attorney General Antonio López Rodríguez also revealed that investigators believe Shanquella died from injuries sustained by one of his companions during the trip, according to The Washington Post.
Salamondra went on to say that some of her friends from the trip visited the family, and they looked her in the face while lying that her son was dead.
“These people looked me in the face and told me there was no war in Cabo,” he told the newspaper.
Some of those friends even returned to Shanquella’s family home after the autopsy report was released.

“How are you all my son?” Salamondra said she asked her friends, one of whom said she was sweating before quickly leaving.
“He’s running away,” the grieving woman told The Washington Post.
Shanquella Robinson’s Father Again Expresses Disappointment With Lack Of Progress In Investigation
Meanwhile, Shanquella’s father, Bernard Robinson, also spoke to the media about his frustration at the lack of progress in the investigation.
“There are many unanswered questions in my mind about his death,” she told the newspaper through tears.
“I just want justice for my daughter,” he said, adding that he has been “in danger” since receiving news of her death.
Bernard added that he heard about the disturbing video while looking for a grave to bury his daughter.

“It broke my heart,” she said of the video.
Shanquella had two businesses, Beautiful Children, where she weaves children’s hair, and Beauty Shop, where she sells clothes.
The FBI confirmed to The Washington Post that it has been involved in the investigation from the beginning.
“We can’t say when the cases will continue, but the case is complicated because there are officials from other countries involved,” Shelley Lynch said.
The State Department also said it is overseeing the investigation, which it does when an American citizen dies abroad. However, Mexican authorities are responsible for investigating the cause of death.
