Blackburn vs PrestonSaturday 12pm – Live on Sky Sports Football
I’m really looking forward to this one to start a full return to the Championship! We saw Blackburn get killed by Burnley in the last game before the break and they will have time to do that.
I was chatting with Ryan Lowe at Preston’s training ground earlier this week and he is also very much looking forward to his return. Millwall’s defeat before the break has given them plenty to eat. I think the league will come back with a bang, some goals, and some goals.
Prediction: 2-2 (Sky Bet luck)
Sheffield United vs HuddersfieldSaturday 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button
We move from Lancashire to Yorkshire for the second derby of the day on Saturday! What we have seen at times from Sheffield United has been good this season, such as the devastating performance at Burnley that we saw on Sky.
This is a very difficult game for Huddersfield Town. It’s a big game and if it’s the first time the fans are back in a few weeks then we can expect a huge crowd to roar the Blades to victory.
Prediction: 2-0 (Sky Bet luck)
Stoke vs CardiffSaturday 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button
Stoke must do very well. You can be sure that Alex Neil will have left his players in no doubt about what he wants from them between now and the end of the season. I’ll be interested to see how he does on Saturday.
You need reassurance from a manager and Cardiff gave that to Mark Hudson by putting him in charge for the rest of the season. It’s a tough job they have there. They lost two in a row before halftime, and I think it will be three.
Prediction: 1-0 (Sky Bet luck)
QPR vs BurnleySunday 1pm – Live on Sky Sports Football
It was very difficult for QPR to see their manager leave. Anyone who joins has a good job at a well-run camp these days. And the situation was not so good when Mick Beale left.
I feel you are seeing a Burnley side that will stretch their legs and grow from here this season, despite being at the top. But I think they will start with a point at Loftus Road.
Prediction: 2-2 (Sky Bet luck)
Watford vs HullSunday 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button
This Watford side has shown at times what it can do under Slaven Billic, but what the owners want is the top two and promotion. Everything else is declining.
Hull seem to have had a bit of a blast at the break! He played with them in Antalya and the owner even paid for the fans to go and have fun. It’s been great from the PR side, and they hope that feeling spreads on the field. If it does they can draw on Vicarage Road.
Prediction: 1-1 (Sky Bet luck)
Sunderland vs West BromMonday 8pm – Live on Sky Sports Football
This season has been all about consolidation for Sunderland, so for them to be 10th on this level is good. And it was a big win over Millwall last week.
We know what Carlos Corberan is capable of from what we saw at Huddersfield and it looks like West Brom may have turned the corner before the break. But it would have halted their progress a bit and Sunderland had the title.
Prediction:2-0 (Sky Bet luck)
