Tiger Woods has echoed Rory McIlroy’s call for Greg Norman to step down as CEO of LIV Golf to allow peace in golf’s civil war.
McIlroy and Woods have been strong supporters of the tours set up during their battle with the Saudi-funded separatist region, but McIlroy recently called for an agreement between the rival groups.
The world champion feels it would not have happened if Norman had remained at the helm of LIV Golf and Woods has shown he feels the same way.
Speaking on Tuesday at a press conference expected to take part in the Hero World Challenge, which he has left due to injury, Woods said: “I see that there is an opportunity if all these organizations stand by their charges, but that’s the problem. , they have to be on it.
“And whether they’re going to do it or not, there’s no need to discuss it if you have a case against you. So if both of them have a break and can meet and figure something out, then maybe there’s something to it.
“But I think Greg needs to go, first, and then obviously the charges against us, and then our charges against him, they should also stay at home.
“Then we can talk, we can all talk freely.”
