Tyson Fury successfully defeated Derek Chisora inside 10 rounds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday to complete a three-match winning streak against ‘Del Boy’.
Mahmoud Charr, however, was not happy. The Syrian billionaire, who is based in Germany, has already been linked to Fury himself.
“This [Chisora] fighting is not history, [it means] nothing for me and boxing fans,” said Charr.
“If you read the book once, twice, three times, what will change in the book? Nothing – that’s why I’m calling this fight a small win for Fury, a big win for Chisora. [in terms of money].”
Charr insisted he would give Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, the better fight.
“For sure he is [Fury] they know I’m more dangerous than Chisora,” said Charr Sky Sports.
“They know my story. Two shots can’t stop me, two new hip surgeries can’t stop me. Who can stop me? They know full well I’m the ‘King of Arabia,’ no one can stop me.”
His Fury shot is what Charr craves. “If I have and want something in life, [that I] would like, and fight ‘Gypsy King’ Fury, maybe next year in the UAE,” he said.
“I want the best in the world. That name is Tyson Fury.”
But Charr added: “The runner-up is Anthony Joshua.”
“Joshua is a professional athlete,” he said. “He is a wise soldier and a gentleman, this fight is also a desire and a gift for all Arab countries.
“Maybe he’s ready to fight me in the UAE, if he wants a smoke.”
