The chances of another big Apple event before the New Year are slim. That’s because CEO Tim Cook has revealed more, saying in a recent investor call that the sales line is “set” for the year. So, we’ll have to wait until early 2023 for any changes to the Mac lineup and any other surprises (hint: it could be a headset) Apple has up its sleeves. But that can’t stop us from thinking about what’s to come from Apple Park in the new year.
In past years, Apple usually has three fall events, but this year was different. As usual, Apple held a September event to announce the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra. But a month later, Cook broke with tradition and made a surprise move by saving us a lot of money and choosing the lowest-priced media to announce the M2 iPad Pro, elegant entry-level iPads, and Apple TV in 4K.
November is usually when Apple unveils new Macs, but that announcement has now been pushed back.
Apple XR headset may have ‘Face ID’ technology to pay with your eyes
With the new iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches out of our year-end Apple launch bingo cards, all that’s left is the tentpole industry with new Macs and the elusive XR theme. We don’t know the exact timing of the remaining announcements, but we do know a lot about what to expect.

M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pros
According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman and Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, We can expect that Apple will launch 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in the new year. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros come with M1 Pro and M1 Max replacement options, so upgrading these laptops with Apple’s second-generation silicon would be a natural progression.
Currently, there are two Apple laptops on the market with the standard version of the M2 chip: the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air, both of which were announced at WWDC 2022 last June.

M2 Mac mini
A new version of the Mac mini is said to be on the way, and it looks like it’s also starting to look like the M2. The Mac mini, Apple’s most affordable device (starting at $650), is a small but powerful desktop computer known for its compact design and performance. This will be the first upgrade in two years for the product line that currently runs on the M1 chip.

The headset is another version of the iPad
Will this be the year Apple enters the metaverse?
A hybrid headset from Apple has been in the works for a long time and experts say that 2023 could be the year when the Apple XR headset becomes a reality. The headset was expected this year, but has reportedly been delayed due to software issues, and availability issues. That said, Gurman said in May that his development was “highly advanced.” Now that the list of Apple products is closed for the year, the device – which is considered a “game changer in the headset industry” according to Kuo – could appear early next year.
One of Apple’s opponents thinks that we will see a foldable iPad in 2024
Given Apple’s well-known secret to the development of such a large product, it’s mostly speculation at this point. But a report from The Information has revealed that Apple’s headphones may feature iris scanning technology for authentication and payment, and may ship with a “ski-goggle” design that’s quite different from Meta’s Quest 2 headphones and Quest Pro.
Finally, will Apple embrace the cage? Reports from The Elec and CNBC predict that the tech giant will enter the folding game in 2024. It is said that Apple will test folding technology with the iPad line. This may be different from its counterpart Samsung which is on foldable phones. It’s not unusual for Apple to jump on any kind of trend, but the curved design seems to be on the rise and now might be a good time for the company to try its hand at it.
Will 2023 be the year we see Apple return to its new roots? Only time will tell. Here I believe that everything is worth waiting for.
